FCAC offers interactive tools, calculators, and information regarding financial literacy. These resources focus on the rights and interests of consumers of financial products and services.

The Bank of Canada offers a list of Canadian and international websites that provide financial information. On the list, you can find information on subjects like inflation, personal finances, and investing.


Financial Information | Vancouver Public Library

This is a guide created by the librarians at the Vancouver Public Library for financial literacy. This guide includes useful websites, digital library resources and book recommendations. Furthermore, this guide includes subsections for information on topics like banking, credit and debit, and Tax accounts like RRSP and TFSA.

AFOA Canada: Indigenous Financial Wellness

AFOA Canada is an Indigenous non-profit founded in 1999 to support Indigenous self-determination. The organization focuses on strengthening management, finance, and governance skills within Indigenous communities. They aim to enrich the lives of Canadian Indigenous communities by empowering the leaders who oversee their resources.

To support financial literacy, AFOA Canada offers specialized programs like the “Dollars and Sense” workshop series, financial wellness webinars (like “It’s My Life – Am I prepared?”), and the “Money Smarts” podcast on their websites.

AFOA BC: Community Workshops

This is an independent regional non-profit established in 1996 to help aid AFOA Canada. AFOA BC offers specialized workshops, including “First Nations Financial Fitness,” which covers financial literacy, credit, and tax returns.


JABC (JA British Columbia): JA Company Program for Indigenous Learners

Program for students (Grades 10+) and young adults (up to age 29) with essential business skills and knowledge to help them launch their own ventures. This program is free of charge, and JABC will cover the material and coordination required for the class.

The program works to help individuals develop “essential business skills, leadership, and financial literacy, while integrating Indigenous perspectives, cultural values of reciprocity/respect, and mentorship”.


Varcity: Indigenous financial workshops

“Wealth Mindset: Indigenous Financial Resilience” was created with the help of Called to Action Collaborative, Elders, and Indigenous colleagues. This program aims to help Indigenous people build wealth and pass their knowledge to future generations. Their workshops can be attended in person or online.


Managing your Money: Tools and tips to help you meet your goals

This is a series of worksheets from Prosper Canada and AFOA Canada created to help Indigenous individuals and families set and work towards money goals. Each worksheet covers a different financial topic.

Immigrants Services Society of BC (ISSofBC)

ISSofBC is a non-profit operating within British Columbia, one of Western Canada’s largest charities supporting immigrants and refugees. ISSofBC provides workshops on financial literacy, budgeting, and banking for immigrants. These workshops are tailored to help newcomers and refugees understand the intricacies of Canadian banking, credit, and financial systems.

About Your Money | Canadian Bankers Association

The Canadian Bankers Association offers a program called “About Your Money: Students”. This is a free financial education seminar program designed for Grade 10-12 high school students. The seminar covers topics regarding budgeting, saving and investing, credit, and how to recognize signs of financial fraud.
